PRACTICE

Lawrence R. Anderson, Jr., a native of Homer, was admitted to practice before all Louisiana state courts in 1971, and also is admitted to practice law before all United States District Courts in Louisiana, the United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit, and the United States Supreme Court.

He has concentrated his practice of law in the areas of bankruptcy, title insurance litigation, property tax litigation, real estate, landlord-tenant, construction, creditors’ rights, business reorganization and formation, lender liability defense, foreclosure, commercial collections, and commercial law and litigation. Mr. Anderson has had extensive experience in the courts in this state, including the state, federal, and bankruptcy courts, involving trials and appeals of many different legal issues. He is a frequent lecturer at seminars on foreclosure, landlord-tenant, collections, bankruptcy, and insolvency-related legal issues and has had extensive experience in representing creditors and debtors in Chapter 11, 13, and 7 bankruptcy cases.

Significant reported cases in which Mr. Anderson has been successful, among others, include: General Financial Services, Inc. v. Thompson, 987 F.Supp. 505 (M.D.La.1997), affirmed (without opinion) 149 F.3d 1178 (1998); Matter of Walker, 51 F.3d 562 (5th Cir.1995); Matter of Sam, 894 F.2d 778 (5th Cir.1990); In re Energy Contractors, Inc., 791 F.2d 1222 (5th Cir.1988); March Chemical Co. v. White Cross Laboratories, Inc., 339 So.2d 398 (La.App.1st Cir.1977), cert. denied 341 So.2d 894 (La.1977).
